The City of Milford’s contractor, Diamond Materials of Newport, DE, will complete phase D1 of the Airport Road Rehabilitation Project on Tuesday, August 29, 2017. The section between DuPont Blvd (US 113) and Cascades Lane will reopen to traffic on Wednesday, August 30, 2017.
The next phase, C2, will begin on August 30 and closes traffic between People’s Place entrance and Cascades Lane. The rehabilitation of this section includes subbase repair, subbase paving, and drainage improvements. Traffic during this phase will be directed to Bowman Road and to US 113.
The sectional closures in the future are anticipated as follows (UPDATED FROM PREVIOUS RELEASES):
Phase C1 – Between Bowman Road and People’s Place entrance. This phase will be done in two sections to provide access to businesses and will divert traffic using Canterbury, Bowman, and US 113. Projected time frame is September 6 through September 15.
Phase B – Between Delaware Veterans Blvd and Canterbury Road. Traffic during this phase will be directed to Bowman Road and to US 113 beginning September 15 through October 14.
Phase A – Between Delaware Veterans Blvd and Bowman Road. During this phase the detour will be through the Milford Business Park using Mullet Run and Brent Jordan Way, and will be done in two separate phases to allow access to the Jehovah Witness Church beginning October 14 through November 10.
