SE Neighborhood Master Plan
The City of Milford, along with various State agencies and the University of Delaware, are hosting three public workshops on September 17th, October 15th and October 29th to discuss community planning, which is a process whereby the community, on a voluntary basis, comes together to develop and implement a shared vision for promoting the well being of their area. In plain terms, we are seeking your input on what the future holds for this SE area of the City.
It is important to note, the City is not actively seeking annexation in this (or any other) area and these meetings are not being held because of any annexation requests. Again, the meetings will focus on community planning.
The meetings will build upon one another, and we would prefer if attendees could commit to attending each meeting.
We look forward to seeing you at the meetings, so please RSVP as soon as possible due to the limited seating.

The last of three SE Planning Area meetings was held on October 29th where attendees were shown the results of the planning done at the October 15th meeting. While several plans were put together as a result of community planning, several were categorized similarly. After a group discussion among the attendees regarding the pros and cons of each scenario, the group voted on which scenario they preferred.

During the October 15th SE Planning Area meeting, attendees were able to plan their destiny!
The attendees were broken up into tables and worked in groups to decide where the most logical and reasonable growth and preservation for this area should be. Using color tiles, the tables laid out areas for housing in varying densities, commercial land for employment, and preservation areas for possible TDR?s. As a result of the table discussions and hard work, they came up with several options. Click here to see them. At the October 29th meeting, attendees will review what each of these scenarios means to the City and its residents. Hope to see you there.

At the September 17th meeting we asked the attendees to answer two questions on a worksheet and respond to questions posed by Mr. Bill McGowan of UofD. The results of those questions are here. Also for your reference, is the sign in sheet of attendees and the "parking lot" questions. The Parking Lot is where questions or comments that arise during the meeting are posted and addressed at the end of the meeting. The meeting was productive and we anticipate showing attendees the results of their choices at the next meeting on October 15th. Please make sure to reserve your seat as soon as possible.
