Department Values

  The Milford Police Department values human life, freedom, dignity and respect for our fellow human beings. The Milford Police Department Values the Constitution of the United States of America and the Constitution of the great State of Delaware. As such, we value the right of the people’s freedom of speech and to peacefully assemble, to petition the Government for regress, to be secure in their possessions, to be assumed innocent until proven guilty and the right of a speedy trial with the assistance of council by a jury of their peers. We must recognize the limits intended by the Constitution as interpreted by the judicial system and insure that the rights of an individual do not infringe upon the rights of other individuals. We value that we are human, and as such, we are prone to mistakes. Our ultimate goal, while protecting the life, liberty and property of the Citizenry that we serve, is to minimize mistakes and achieve perfection.

Mission Statement

   The mission of the Milford Police Department and our primary goal is to provide fair, compassionate and impartial police services to the citizens and visitors of the City of Milford, Delaware, recognizing both the statutory and judicial limitation of police authority and the Constitutionally guaranteed rights of all people.

   In furtherance of this statement, every member of this department will maintain proficient knowledge, skills and abilities to carry out the mission of the Milford Police Department.
