Responsibilities
The Fatal Accident Investigation Team is comprised of road patrol personnel. They are specially trained in accident investigation and reconstruction. The unit is supervised by Lieutenant Steve Rust who has been deemed an expert witness in the Delaware Superior Court.

There is 1 member of the Fatal Accident Investigation Team assigned to each of the 4 patrol shifts. The members of the Fatal Accident Investigation Team have a mobile office, which also serves as a command post for major crime scenes.
