Bicycle Patrol Unit

About the Unit
The Bicycle Patrol Unit was instituted in 1992 as a way for the Community Policing Division to patrol while encouraging contact with local citizenry. The project was so successful that it was expanded into the Patrol Division where officers can elect to take one of the 6 mountain bikes the department owns on patrol instead of a patrol car.
