2018 Comprehensive Plan Update
In July 2016, the City of Milford began gathering public input in an effort to update the City's Comprehensive Land Use Plan. Over the following 18 months, the Planning Commission, with the assistance from the University of Delaware Institute for Public Administration, held several public meetings and workshops to develop a draft 2018 Comprehensive Plan document that was reviewed by City Council in June 2017 and submitted to the State of Delaware, Office of State Planning Coordination for Preliminary Land Use Service (PLUS) review in July 2017. Revisions to the draft plan as a result of the PLUS comments were reviewed by the Planning Commission in September 2017 and public hearings for the adoption of the plan were held in December of 2017 and January of 2018. On January 22, 2018, the City Council adopted the comprehensive plan pending certification from the Governor. Certification was obtained on May 25, 2018.
