[ARCHIVED] Thursday Trash Collection Delays

The Milford Transfer Station of the Delaware Solid Waste Authority (DSWA) has encountered logistical challenges with receiving and transferring trash and recycle refuse, causing their customers to experience long lines and longer duration turnaround using the facility on Rt. 113S.  Use of this facility is fundamental to the City of Milford’s operations continuity.  Daylight Savings and its earlier onset of darkness together with delays encountered on site at the Transfer Station today, Nov. 9, will compromise the City’s Refuse Management team’s ability to collect all of Thursday’s routes.

Tomorrow, Friday, November 10  is an ordinary Friday collection day.  If your Thursday pickup was not completed, please leave your containers out and the Refuse Management team will pick them up tomorrow, along with Friday’s normal collections.

Public Works will continue to stay in touch with DSWA regarding transfer timing and the challenges they are facing.
